Meet the Parents Night

Hank LaRue Named SIAC Outstanding Athlete
Hank LaRue, a recent graduate of Mater Dei, was named the very first winner of the Southern Indiana Athletic Conference's Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year award.
He received this honor at the SIAC's inaugural Night of Champions, which was sponsored by the University of Evansville and Old National Bank.
All eight SIAC schools had nominations in various sports. Hank was very honored to be the first to be considered as the best overall male athletes.
"It means a lot to be able to win this," said Hank. "It really means a lot, especially (because there were) so many other nominees. And just to represent Mater Dei is great."
Hank was a standout in both baseball and basketball. He was named The Courier & Press' All-Metro Player of the Year in baseball. He batted .560, with 27 runs batted in and 15 stolen bases this spring. In basketball, he was an All-Metro selection after averaging 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds for the Wildcats.
He plans to play baseball at Middle Tennessee.
Christmas in Germany
Mater Dei social studies and German teacher, Stephen Rode, is leading a tour for Mater Dei parents, friends and alumni to experience the beauty of Christmas in Germany. The one week trip, December 17-24, will visit the beautiful and famous Christmas markets of Munich, Nuremberg, and Rothenburg in Bavaria as well as Salzburg, Austria. Mr. Rode has been leading tours to German-speaking countries since 1985. Anyone interested should contact Mr. Rode at 428-3001 or srode@evvmaterdei.org.
