Girls Cub Tennis
Contact Coach Clementsccacca@aol.comyou are interested in playing on the cub girls tennis team this spring.There will be one practice per week and one match per week.No tennis experience necessary. Girls must be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade to play in matches but 4th and 5th graders can come to practices.  Everyone is welcome!

Girls' Basketball Class 2A Sectional Winners
3/1/2010
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Basketball team on victories over Forest Park, North Posey and Perry Central to capture the Sectional championship in Tell City.  At the Forest Park regional, the girls beat Tri-West – Hendricks High School in the first round 46-39 and advanced to the Regional championship game against No. 2 ranked Austin High School where the Lady Wildcats lost in overtime 67-59.  They end the season with an 18-8 record.

IHSAA Moratorium Week
1/29/2010
The IHSAA moratorium week for the summer of 2010 will be June 28 - July 4.  There should be no contact with any Mater Dei coaches and athletes during this period.

Volunteer Workers Needed

The Mater Dei athletic department is still in need of volunteers to sell and take tickets at athletic events. Volunteers who work the whole year receive an Evansville Athletic Pass good for all regular season athletic events in Evansville.
IHSAA Physicals

Please remember that any student participating in an IHSAA sport must complete an IHSAA physical prior to their first official practice.  Physical forms are available outside the athletic office.  If you don’t have the forms completed, you may not tryout or practice.

School Attendance Policy

School Attendance Requirement for Athletes (Mater Dei Handbook page 9)

Students are expected to attend all classes.  Students absent from classes will not be allowed to participate in a practice or contest on the day of the absence.  Exceptions to this rule must be approved by the principal.  Students who are suspended from school may not practice or participate during the time of suspension. 

Ticket Sellers Needed

The athletic department is in dire need of a few more ticket sellers for the upcoming school year.  Anyone that can assist selling tickets at football, volleyball, and basketball games will receive a free Evansville Athletic Council pass that will get you in to all high school athletic events at any of the city schools free of charge.  If you are interested, please email Joe or Molly at jherrmann@evvmaterdei.org or mweber@evvmaterdei.org
