Some Facts about the Mater Dei Annual Fund
In April 2001 the Mater Dei Friends & Alumni Association (MDFAA) developed and approved a long range strategic plan. A primary goal of that plan was to create an Annual Fund program which would raise $200,000 per year within five years. We are pleased to announce - we did it four years and keep surpassing our goals!
This year's Annual Fund kicked off in September 2007. Our goal this year is $275,000. Last year, 2006-07, the Mater Dei Annual Fund raised more than $269,000 - exceeding the original goal of $240,000 by over $29,000. Clearly, the Mater Dei community is on the move!
Our goal this year is $275,000. Our Annual Fund Chairman is Steve Eickhoff '73. The Mater Dei Annual Fund strives to bridge the gap between tuition and parish support and the real cost of educating Mater Dei students. To ensure that an educational program with the highest standards of excellence continues, your help is needed.
The MDFAA has identified five key areas of support to which funds must be directed: academic excellence, spiritual life, technology, facilities and endowment. Specifically, the MDFAA Board has committed Annual Fund resources over the next 1-2 years to the following projects and programs:
- Replacement of doors in classroom, hallways and gym areas that are original to the school (1949).
- Landscaping and sidewalk handrails on the new 107-space parking lot
- Assist with the implementation of a long-range technology plan, through the use of hardware and infrastructure.
- Ongoing support of spiritual programs, academic departments and extracurricular activities.
- Continued growth of the Mater Dei Friends & Alumni Endowment

Together, in the words of Mater Dei's first superintendent, Father William Lautner, we can "build the Queen's Palace." Mater Dei, ora pro nobis!

The Mater Dei Annual Fund begins September 1 and ends August 31. All gifts received prior to August 31, 2008 are part of the 2007-08 Mater Dei Annual Fund.
