Girls Tennis†

Girls Tennis is having a record season this year with an undefeated record of 7-0 and first place finishes in both the Washington and Gibson Southern Invitationals.† We are planning to have a record breaking season and are working hard to have a strong finish this year. We have 25 girls out for the team.† Our varsity roster is:

Junior Lauren Marx at 1 singles - Lauren has an aggressive, all court game and is able to ace her opponents with her strong serve and attack the net and end points decisively.

Freshman Alexa Elpers at 2 singles - Alexa brings a powerful game to her position with her ability to generate great racquet head speed and hit with a great deal of pace from the baseline.† She works her matches by making her opponents run.

Senior Anna Mc Atee at 3 singles - Anna has a steady and determined disposition and wears her opponents down with her calm demeanor while she wins consistently from the baseline.

Senior Michaela Karcher and junior Natalie Blair at 1 doubles - this dynamite doubles team is back again much to the dismay of our opponents.† They work well together with an aggressive game.† Attacking the net and putting balls away quickly.

The team is currently ranked 24th in the state in girls tennis.

Junior Grace Cox and sophomore Ellie Marx at 2 doubles - this aggressive team at two doubles surprises their opponents with their confidence and teamwork, with Grace hitting deep strong groundstrokes and Ellie smashing balls away at the net.

Juniors Ashley Reine and Abby Chapman have played several varsity matches and work very well as a doubles team, with their consistent game and ability to attack the net.
