Mater Dei Boys' Basketball Alumni Game

The Mater Dei Boys’ Basketball team invites you to come to its second biennial Alumni Game. The Alumni Game will take place October 18th, 2014, at Mater Dei Gymnasium. Tip off time will be at 5:00 p.m. Admission will be $5 for adults, $3 for kids 10 and under, or $15 total for immediate families. Money from the event will be used to support the MD boys’ basketball teams.

The Alumni Game will include many former players, including two of Mater Dei’s highest all-time scorers in Kelly Muensterman and Matt Kiefer. Alongside these former stars will be a cast of 28 other alums, including many sectional, regional, semi-state and state champions. Former Coaches Roger Sills and John Goebel will also be present to coach the two opposing sides. There will be entertainment in between quarters, a half pot giveaway for a signed ball from those participating in the event, and a “Shoot for Cash” contest. Those interested in playing must be former MD boys varsity players graduating before 2009.

Please join us in watching some of Mater Dei's past as we prepare for the future. We hope to have a great turnout and look forward to catching up with old friends and teammates!

Schickel Commits to Butler University

Junior Tori Schickel has verbally committed to Butler University to continue her basketball career for the Lady Bulldogs.  Tori, a 6’3” center has led Mater Dei to three consecutive state final appearances including two back to back state championships in 2012 and 2013.   She set a state record in the 2A championship game in 2013 for most rebounds in the finals and tied the record in the 3A championship game in 2014.

Tori is a three time first team all metro and all conference selection.  In 2013 she was a 1st team IBCA underclass all state selection and AP honorable mention all state, and in 2014 was a 1st team IBCA underclass all state selection and AP 2nd team all state.  Tori was also named to the Indiana All-Star junior Core 6 team.

She had the following comments on her commitment:

“I like the small college feel and it’s in Indiana and close to home.  I am very excited to play in the Big East.   Butler’s academic programs were a good fit and left me with many options for the future.   I am very impressed with the coaching staff and look forward to working with them.”

Mater Dei Men's Club Newsletter

The Mater Dei Men’s Club was established in 2004 as a non-profit organization whose purpose was to be a financial supporter to the athletic department and all 19 of Mater Dei’s IHSAA sanctioned sporting teams.  This support includes working closely with the athletic director and all team coaches on fulfilling their requests, such as equipment needs, uniforms, practice gear, travel expenses, etc.,  so parents of the athletes and the school don’t have to.

Mater Dei Football Aerial Photo Available
