Tomorrow's Work Force
In 2001, the Evansville Catholic High Schools initiated a program at Mater Dei and Reitz Memorial High Schools to recognize student leaders for their work and initiative as active scholars and community volunteers. What became known as the Tomorrow's Work Force Program included an outreach to the business community for support of our high schools and the future employees and commerce leaders of the Evansville community and beyond.
An appeal was made to area industry and individuals noting the many accomplishments of our students - and highlighted the tax savings of non-public education, results-driven data, and quality graduates prepared to work hard and succeed in life.
Each year, these results are celebrated at the annual Tomorrow's Work Force Luncheon which features Mater Dei and Reitz Memorial High School Leadership Award recipients and sponsors. In 21 years, the Tomorrow's Work Force sponsors have gifted over $2 million to support the Evansville Catholic High Schools.
In 2022, the response to the Leadership Award and the Leadership Scholarship surpassed our expectations with the quality applications we received. Fifty-three students from Mater Dei and Reitz Memorial High Schools submitted their applications and essay for consideration. We are blessed to have such outstanding students at our high schools and representing us in our community.
