MD HiLights
Students who have completed the introductory journalism course often become part of the Student Publications staff for the award-winning Mater Dei Hi-Lights yearbook. If a junior or senior student has not taken journalism, he or she may apply to be on staff. Publications staff members also have the opportunity to earn college credit through USI. In order to successfully document the school year, the course involves dedicated work in the areas of writing, designing, and photographing and involves a two-day summer workshop. The yearbook is distributed the first week back to school in August. Students earn fine arts credits in this year-long course and may be enrolled in the course their sophomore through junior years.
Mater Dei decided to scan all yearbooks to preserve the history and make them available to alumni and friends of the school. We are grateful to the University of Southern Indiana and their willingness to host the yearbooks in the David L. Rice Library University Archives and Special Collections.
All yearbooks up to 2011 are available to view here.
